Geelong Football Club, also known widely as The Cats, actually is a great professional Australian football rules club. The club is located in the Geelong city and is more than just simply popular among the masses. Playing as a part of the AFL or the Australian Football League, The Cats have actually won seven of the AFL/ VFL premierships, nine of the McClelland Trophies and twenty five of the VFA/ Reserves/ VFL premierships. It is since the year of 1941 itself that the club has thus played the home games at the Kardinia Park. Kardinia Park is now known as "Skilled Stadium" which happens to be a sponsored name. The conventional Guernsey colors of the club are the white Guernseys along with hoops of navy blue, white and navy hoped socks and navy shorts.
The Geelong Cats Football Club was formed in the year 1859 and is AFL's second oldest one after Melbourne. In fact, it is considered among the oldest of the football clubs in the world. Along with the AFL team, this club offers a stand alone tea, also in the VFL or the Victoria Football League. After competing in old VFA, this club helped in the formation of the VFL, in the year of 1897. The Geelong Cats Football Club played- off in 5 Grand Finals in that period but unfortunately failed in winning in any one of them.
